wordcloud_4_.jpg

Statistical programmers at all levels can make a significant impact on streamlining delivery, improving efficiency, and importantly ensuring quality.  At a recent PhUSE Single Day event , Cytel's Sunil Gupta gave a very well received presentation on how best to achieve high quality deliverables while maintaining efficiency, noting that 3 key components should be observed:

1) Apply Best Practices in CDISC and Data Review
2) Build on the Pillars of SAS Programming Techniques
3) Give Clinical Study and Technical Training

In his presentation, Gupta shared some valuable  programming and management tips including SAS tips on :

  • How to use Fuzzy Join to Derive Ncart
  • How to map VISIT to AVISIT

Other key insights included supporting programming quality through maintainence of metadata formats using Control Data Sets with PROC FORMAT.
