Year-end Roundup: Cytel’s Contributions Towards Health & Education in 2020

At Cytel, we have been diligently working to become an organization deeply committed to uplifting and enriching society. The core purpose of our business is to help our clients in their endeavor to improve human health. Our employees are committed to upholding the highest standards in our interactions with customers, our colleagues and the communities in which we live and work.

Each year, we have several sustainable programs planned around providing education in healthcare and statistics. However, this year with the pandemic disrupting the socio-economic circumstances of the whole world, we were quick to implement new drives to support the fight against COVID-19.

Cytel India goes miles beyond ‘charity’

Collage 2The objective of Cytel India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities is to give back value to the society that our business operates in. We focus on Statistics and Life Science education and partner with educational institutes to support their programs on these subjects. Helping the students build a sound career in Statistics and Healthcare is a joint effort by us alongside such institutes – thereby benefitting the industry as a whole. For years, Cytel has been conducting seminars and trainings for students from economically underprivileged backgrounds. Here are some of our ongoing CSR programs:

Fly High!

‘Fly High!’ is Cytel’s award winning program which provides scholarships to deserving and underprivileged young students in their quest for higher education in Statistics and Healthcare. Our employees have gracefully volunteered several hours of their personal time to go through the applications and provide professional counsel. So far, we have zeroed in and successfully sponsored higher education of 750 plus students in Statistics, Nursing and various Hospital Technician courses. For this initiative, we have been associated with 15 different colleges and Universities in various parts of India.

This year, one of the nursing schools we work with, namely, Chetan Gaikwad Nursing School, reached out to us to help train their students in building Mental Health Awareness and for sponsoring a ‘Personality Development Workshop’. We were happy to organize both the campaigns for them as the Nurses needed to be well-trained before they could face the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.

Supporting Healthcare Providers during the COVID-19 Pandemic

When the Pandemic hit, our focus was shifted towards a very essential element – healthcare facilities for infected patients. We teamed up with an NGO that runs a hospital and helped them acquire PPE kits for healthcare workers, provide basic sanitation equipment for the hospital and medicines for patients. We also offered help by way of conducting nursing courses and online education programs.

Laptops for Visually Impaired Students

As Helen Keller rightly said, “There is no better way to thank God for your sight than by giving a helping hand to someone in the dark.” This year, Cytel helped 11 visually impaired students by purchasing laptops that help them both personally and professionally. The availability of these laptops was the differentiator for these students to find earning opportunities while being locked-up in their homes through the pandemic.

Cytel’s CSR Committee along with employees lead these initiatives with great enthusiasm and the spirit of giving back – as an organization, we believe that Giving Back is Going Forward.
