In recent years, master protocols have gained substantial support and provide an efficient way of testing compound(s) in a single and consistent framework. Master protocols expand on traditional trials by allowing new therapies, disease types, and/or disease subtypes to an on-going trial. Master protocols can be very flexible and improve the clinical development process, however, this flexibility increases the complexity and risk in trial execution.
