Nina Laven

Chief Human Resources Officer

Nina is a dynamic and progressive people leader who delivers impact - from strategy to execution – through the scaling of engaged people teams and alignment of shareholders, customers, employees, and social value. As Cytel’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Nina is focused on engaging, empowering, and inspiring our people through effective managers and organizations.

Nina has extensive experience in building best-in-class People Operations and HR in the software and biotechnology industry with an emphasis on leadership development and organizational behavior.  She has been published in peer-reviewed journals on organizational and culture topics.

Prior to joining Cytel, Nina was the CHRO at JLL Technologies, the technology division of JLL, and Chief People Officer at Building Engines.  She also held leadership roles at Roche and McKinsey & Company.

Nina’s doctoral and post-doctoral work in cultural anthropology explored new approaches to the intersection between race and medicine. She remains a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion.  She lives in Boston with her husband and son.
