Irving Dark joined Cytel in 2007 and brings more than 25 years of industry experience guiding drug, biologic, and medical device products successfully through the clinical development process. His extensive international operations and business development experience allowed him to play a pivotal role in establishing and growing Cytel’s Project Based Services division. Irving has a passion for working closely with sponsors to gain an understanding of their needs and determining the optimal solution for supporting them.

Irving has a proven track record for establishing and growing commercial clinical research organizations. Prior to joining Cytel, Irving was Vice President, Business Development and Operations for Veristat where he established and oversaw the company’s Data Management, Statistical Programming, Project Management, Business Development, and IT departments. During his tenure at Veristat, Irving worked closely with many sponsor companies, supporting successful regulatory filings in oncology, influenza, and smallpox.

Earlier in his career, Irving held key positions at PAREXEL, where he managed Phase 1 - 3 clinical trials in the US, South America, Europe and Asia. Major therapeutic areas of projects included: lipid-lower agent (CRESTOR®), HIV (NELFINAVIR®), acromegaly (SOMATULINE®), and Stroke.

Irving began his career at Women & Infants’ hospital in Providence, RI as a Research Analyst in the department of pediatrics where he supported research projects for the Gestational Diabetes Grant, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Audiology Clinic, and Brown University’s Sleep Research Lab.

Irving has an in-depth knowledge of clinical development and biometrics, is co-author of numerous published clinical studies, and a DIA invited speaker. Irving holds Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rhode Island.
