Cytel Initiatives

At Cytel we are committed to upholding the highest standards in our interactions with customers, our colleagues and the communities in which we live and work. We are proud of our company’s contributions and the many ways we can make a difference in the world by keeping our Vision at the forefront of everything we do.

Our employees lead these initiatives with an enthusiastic hand – as an organization, we believe that Giving Back is Going Forward.

Fly High

Fly High is Cytel’s award winning program, which integrates health and education in its mission to support families using educational opportunities to escape the poverty trap. Cytel believes that making the most of educational opportunities means supporting students and families both in schools and outside. In addition to providing laboratory equipment to teachers and taking students on field trips to local museums, Fly High has sponsored a cancer detection camp for parents and organized counseling sessions for students and teachers.

Vision Marathon Challenge

As Helen Keller rightly said, “There is no better way to thank God for your sight than by giving a helping hand to someone in the dark.” In efforts to build empathy and raise awareness, the National Opthamology Institute sponsors The Vision Marathon, an annual set of blindfolded buddy runs to raise money for blindness. Cytel gathered a team of 55 to run this year’s Vision Marathon. In addition, Cytel encourages employee eye donations through its Fly High program and other initiatives.

Cye-Fit Challenge

Cytel’s educational vision promotes engaging program activities that bring computer science and technological education to a wider array of students. In a 21ST century economy, children not given the chance to learn coding at a young age, will face automatic disadvantages in the work place and find it difficult to leverage technology for innovative problem-solving. Cytel aims to counter unequal access to technological and computer science education by encouraging its work force to volunteer in local schools.

Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger

For nearly two decades, Cytel has sent a team to participate in Boston’s annual Walk for Hunger. In a state whose affluence contributes to improved healthcare and educational opportunities for all, it is sometimes easy to forget that there are even more basic needs like food, that are unavailable to nearly 60,000 Mass Bay children. Through its participation in the annual walk, Cytel aims to support a foundational need that can then help children concentrate in classrooms, and flourish in our cities.
