Statistical Analysis Although StatXact has a very large number of statistical procedures, they are grouped logically on the Statistics Menu according to whether they solve one, two or K-sample problems, problems involving contingency tables, or problems involving measures of association. All you need to know is what type of statistical problem you face, and what type of data you have. Executing an exact test is then as simple as pulling down the Statistics Menu and clicking on the appropriate choice.
Data Editing Bringing the data into StatXact is simple too. Our unique TableData Editor allows you to directly edit the cells of a contingency table. No other statistical software package we know of provides this capability. For case-by-case data we have a much improved CaseData Editor with many spreadsheet-like features including data transformations. You can even create your data in EXCEL® or Lotus-1-2-3, copy it to the clip-board, and paste it into the StatXact CaseData Editor. Finally we have commands for converting case-by-case data into contingency tables and vice versa, and for computing and displaying the scores for many popular linear rank tests including tests for censored survival data. Besides being analytically valuable, these features of StatXact are excellent teaching tools for demonstrating that one unified permutational approach is applicable to both continuous and categorical data.
In addition, StatXact can read data created by other packages in the following formats:
