What does StatXact® do?

With StatXact 8 statisticians and investigators can conduct complex exact statistics calculations within an easily understood and customizable environment. The results are fast and accurate.

What sets it apart?

Other statistical applications often rely on large-scale assumptions for inferences, risking incorrect conclusions from data sets not normally distributed. StatXact utilizes Cytel's own powerful algorithms to make exact inferences by permuting the actually observed data, eliminating the need for distributional assumptions.

• Stratified Wilcoxon Signed Rank test utilizing case data on paired samples
• Perform test of correlation across single – not bi-variable – correlation

What's new in StatXact 8?

The Friedman Aligned Rank Test

The Friedman Aligned Rank Test serves as an alternative to the regular Friedman Test. The aligned rank test is a better choice when the data have very few treatments and the blocks have different magnitudes of effect and scale.

What issues does the Friedman Aligned Rank Test address?

The standard Friedman test is less sensitive for smaller number of treatments. This is due to the fact that the observations are ranked within a block, and thus the comparisons are made among the responses within each block only. Comparing responses between blocks will not be meaningful. Some blocks may give consistently high, and others consistently low, responses as the blocks might have different magnitudes of effect and scale among themselves.
