Statistical Software to Access Common Statistical Distributions

StaTable® is a free program provided by Cytel.

StaTable provides immediate access to the twenty-five most commonly used statistical distributions. With just a few keystrokes, the tail area or percentage point you want appears in a pop-up window. StaTable eliminates hunting for books of tables, interpolation, and risk of calculation error.

Your browser does not support Java, or is not Java enabled. StaTable for Java requires a Java (JDK 1.0.2) enabled browser such as the current version(s) of Windows Explorer or Mozilla FireFox.

Invoking Distributions: The window is set up to display the Normal distribution. If you want to look up any other distribution you must select it directly from the distribution listbox displayed at top of the window. The distributions are organized into continuous, non-central, and discrete categories. When you select the distribution, the contents of the window changes to reflect the parameters of that distribution.

Looking up Table Values: If you are looking up probabilities for a given variate value simply type the value(s) into the top-most cell(s). Each cell entry is completed by pressing Enter key, or by moving cursor to another cell. The desired probabilities will be computed and shown in the bottom group of probability cells.

If you are looking for the percentile point for a given probability, enter this value in the appropriate probability cell. The top-most cell will then display the required percentile point value
