Indirect Sales Consultant
Cytel Sales Background
Cytel’s products and services are sold worldwide through a direct sales and business development team coupled with an inside sales force, global distributor network, Internet sales, and OEM arrangements.
The purpose Cytel’s Indirect Sales Program is to increase sales by letting the field sales people focus on closing larger, more complex transactions requiring face-to-face time to develop relationships. You’ll do this by providing HQ support to field sales team and developing the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
Cytel’s Indirect Sales consultant is an inside sales position. You will create and qualify leads, close transactions or phases of the selling process that may be easier from Cytel head quarters. You’ll be at most of the trade shows and help organize mailings, arrange, conduct appointments, training, meetings, webcasts and teleconferences.
You'll conduct account research to determine account background, financials, pipeline, organization charts, functional responsibilities and informal influences of key accounts, departments and individuals; this will help drive account planning which you will be part of too.
Also, there’s the usual back-office stuff needed to do the job such as being responsible for quotes, forecast, account records, contract and legal paperwork.
On a day-to-day basis most of your work will be for our Business Development Directors, who are two seasoned veterans in USA and Paris.
Position
The position is full-time and will report to the Vice President of Sales and Business Development of Cytel Inc.
Compensation & Benefits
Highly competive compensation package consisting of a base salary and commissions. Cytel has medical and dental benefits, contributing 401K plan and stock option plans.
Qualifications and Experience
The right person will likely have a BS degree and 1+ years of sales experience in a technology environment, preferrably some with a start-up software company like Cytel.
It will be easier to convince me you can hit the ground running if you understand the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Cytel has some very bright people and a lot of Ivy Leaguers so you will do best if you are a quick and perceptive thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills.
Fluency in French would be a great since we have a Paris office and French customers.
